I heave a sigh of relief as I reach the school hall in time. I pass by an exhibit showing a collision of stars (maybe the big bang theory) and another on the evolution of hats. I hear my daughter calling me, eager to show her history project.
We pass by other parents who are marvelling at their kid’s assignments and discussing whose would win the prize; until we reach a group of chuckling parents.
There stood a proud dinosaur with a Santa hat—and a note in my daughter’s handwriting arguing that dinosaurs celebrated Christmas ages ago. Needless to say, even though she didn’t win the history competition, she certainly received a lot of appreciation from the school’s creative writing teacher.

The photo prompts have been given by Bjorn Rudberg at the Friday Fictioneers hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields and by Yinglan Z. at the Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers (FFfAW). The word prompts (star and calling) have been given by Six Sentence Stories by Recording Life Under The Radar and the WordPress Daily Prompts.
Nice mash up 🙂

Maybe. Till then she will have to settle for being a story writer instead of a historian

Love the sentiment! No reason why we all can’t share the season! Great combination of two prompts.

Very neat. No mean feat to address two very different prompts in a single post.

So cute… and very creative… but I agree that it’s probably not very scientific

Good one. I think the daughter is going to be a fiction writer one day as long as they don’t take her creativity from her.

And, why not? Wouldn’t be any different than celebrating in Florida!
