Garden Reality

Sunlight streamed into the room, trying in vain to dry the over-soggy soil.

Rivulets of water told the story of past residents.

Branches laden with brown leaves stretched forward in a cry for help.

The newly bought blooms started pondering their future.

The aged succulent relaxed, ready to pass the baton to the new ones.

The ‘Ace’ gardener’s dream remained just that.

The photo prompt has been given by Rowena Curtin at the Friday Fictioneers hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields and the word prompt (Ace) has been given for the Six Sentence Stories hosted by Denise Farley.
