A Lovely Night

It’s a lovely moonlit night. There’s a gentle breeze, the kids are asleep and my wife’s here beside me; it’s almost romantic.

There’s the next door cat trying again to climb the fence next to my tree. Stupid cat, doesn’t he realise the difference between a short fence and the high branch of a tree? He’s never going reach us, we birds are too smart for him.

Well, I guess we should go to bed or we won’t be able to wake up early tomorrow morning; after all, it’s always the early bird that catches the worm.

  2. fun Six!

(makes me think of a line from Woody Allen, “And the lion will lie down with the lamb, but the lamb won’t get much sleep…” as I suspect your protagonists will not)

I think they get good sleep; after all, they are ‘high up on the branch, out of the cat’s reach.’

Cute and clever take on the prompt. I’d still be wary of that cat. 😉

Thanks Rochelle. I’m hoping that the cat gets something else to attract his attention in the meantime.
