While playing Hide n’ Seek, Robert ran looking for a hiding place. Reaching the end of the garden, he climbed into a little cave.
He came out the other side and lo and behold, there was a mansion, the size of a dollhouse. In front, a pool with cranes and swans and nearby a little forest with lions, deer and bears.
He felt like a giant in this land of tiny things and decided to visit the mansion, perhaps he could get a ‘tiny’ paper and pen to write a letter home. “Don’t touch,” said the little girl who stayed next door (and suddenly appeared with her friends); these are our toys.

The photo prompts have been given by Sandra Crook at the Friday Fictioneers hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields and by Goroyboy at the Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers (FFfAW). The word prompt (Crane) has been given by Six Sentence Stories at Recording Life Under The Radar (Thanks for hosting it till now).
I’d be inclined to ‘not touch.’ Interesting use of two prompts at once. I’ve only done that a few times myself.

Wow! What wonderful toys! You completely sold me on the idea of a Narnia experience, so your twist at the end took me completely by surprise. Well done!

What a cute story! A giant in the land of miniature. . .I wonder if the miniature cranes were small origami cranes?

Hi Pat, the cranes were actually plastic toys. (I doubt they would have survived the water in the pool otherwise)

You really can combine prompts for sure. This feels like there is more to the tale yet?

And in a flash he returned from being a giant to an ordinary kid. Nice twist to the story.

This was wonderfully fanciful, and so true to life that the little girl and her friends would prevent him from playing with their miniature kingdom!

Great story; well done. I really like the image of the little boy going through a cave to a miniature world. Too bad the girls had to follow.

It was actually he who was trespassing on the girls’ little toy party
