Tree Talks

He woke up and stretched, proudly noting how his arms branched across the field. A bird fluttered and gracefully landed on his shoulder while a cat sat nuzzling against his foot. A little girl ran behind it, probably to catch it.

He looked meditatively at his arms; At one point in time, they shaded the entire field with leaves as richly coloured as the sky. He smiled as a camper pitched his tent, leaning against him to read a book. Ah… a mystery novel… interesting.

  19. Interesting to think that trees may be as interested in us as we are in them. Maybe they’ll let us continue existing no matter the wrongs we’ve done to their kin.
