Guarding Fruit

“What are you doing standing there?”

“I’m guarding the fruits. Ms Petunia told me to keep watch and shoo away any humans or birds that show up to steal them.”

“Uh… then why are you eating them? Shouldn’t you at least ask?”

“Oh, I’m sure she wouldn’t mind me taking a commission.”

I’m not sure where I was going with this story, but I guess I’m there?

The photo prompt has been given by Trish Nankeville at the Friday Fictioneers hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields and the word prompt (Guard) has been given for the Six Sentence Stories hosted by Denise Farley.

  1. I like short stories. I like them very much. I think they are just as hard or harder to write than the longer ones. I like short comments too. It’s the only kind I write. 😉

    1. Glad to hear that 😀 Personally I find longer stories a bit hard to write (those end up being monstrous, & not in a good way).

  10. Paying in fruit is probably the best way to go, when they steal, they take more than their fair share.
