Winning Bet

“I win! Now shell out the money.”

“You know that’s not what I said.”

“No excuses, I won the bet fair and square.”

“No you didn’t. I said you should go off the beaten path, not off the vehicle path.”

The photo prompt has been given by Sandra Crook at the Friday Fictioneers hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields and the word prompt (Path) has been given for Six Sentence Stories at the Girlie on the Edge hosted by Denise Farley.

  1. It’s how we drive in the UK. Narrow Medieval streets, you see

    1. An even better reason for not winning the bet 😉

Every single road out of my village is narrow, it can be fun at times

    1. Must be a real challenge too ☺️

  3. Dear Bernadette,

Short and to the point. Nicely done.

  4. Those narrow streets can force one off the path.

    1. That still doesn’t make it a win 😉

  5. Yea! get off the pavement, you road hog.

  6. Another fun Six, Bernadette! Reminded me of an experience once in Paris. Busy street, traffic slow. A taxi cab decided he’d bypass the jam so he swerved around the car in front and drove a portion on the sidewalk. Came back onto the street and away he sped. I’d never seen anything like that, lol Wild.

    1. They must be having pretty wide sidewalks for a cab to achieve that 🤔

  7. Splitting hairs! Yes, i agree, there’s a difference.

  8. Very clever, I admire you for telling this in such few words.

  9. Some people will do anything to win a bet. Haha.

    1. And some will do anything to make sure they don’t 😉

    Funny Six!

    1. I’m still not budging from the ‘have to do exactly what was said to win’ position 😉
