“I’m telling you, this is the place; All the popular celebrities from back home come here to eat.”
“I love Chinese as much as you Promila, but doesn’t this place look a little too fancy for you?”
“Urgh, you’re always so nervous. It’s a wonder we still travel together.”
“Ok.”
“We’ll order the chef’s special.”
*** An entire meal later ***
“Promila, did you remember to carry your debit card?”
“Nope, why?”
“Did you actually check the prices when I asked you to look-up the menus of local restaurants?”
“Erโฆ No?”
*** A super-long conversation with an extremely displeased manager later ***
“Next time I’m deciding where we eat.”

The photo prompt has been given by Brenda Cox at the Friday Fictioneers hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. The word prompt (Home) has been given by Denise Farley at the Girlie on the Edge.
A fun argument had by many. Love it!

Oh dear. I guess it’s not the MC who is the problem in this travel companionship. Great story.

And they both went home with indigestion, or did they have to stay and wash the dishes for restitution? I hope Promila thought the meal was worth it!

It was neither. We’ve created an EMI plan with the manager to pay off the bill ๐

Yes, always check the prices! It IS a wonder they still travel together, but I wonder about it the other way round. I wonder why the other person still travels with Promila! A good take on the prompt and a good story.

Hopefully, the food was good – a bright spot in an otherwise aggravating situation.

I think there’s a reason she’s “always nervous.” You should always check the prices. Oy!

I’m sure she’s going to make sure about it from now onwards.

The word “celebrities” should have given the game away immediately!

Dear Bernadette,
It’s always best to have everything in order before eating where the celebrities go. ๐ Fun dialogue and a not so happy ending.

Rochelle
