Third Time Lucky?

His sleepy eyes looked across at the horizon, trying to pay attention to the glint of light that suggested movement. Downstairs the faint sound of sleigh bells rang, diminishing with every second.

He quickly jumped out of bed and ran towards the living room. Sure enough, the cookies he had kept had disappeared and there was a neatly wrapped gift under the Christmas tree.

Whoever said third time lucky was wrong. Santa had gone before he even had a chance to see him arrive.

  7. That Santa is a tricky one, but he has a lot of practice staying out of sight, I guess. Nice story.

  10. Santa… the mysterious dude that only seems to show up for the rich. Sorry, I’m not a Santa fan.

      1. Sorry, I was feeling rather snarky when I said that. I just wasn’t raised with Santa Claus and his hoopla.
