Lockdown Laziness

“Guys join, it’s zany!”

I pushed the notification tray back up and returned to my book; Attending a Zoom “concert” with over a 100 screaming people and one guy spinning random tracks? Not for me.

The phone rang, “please come quickly, there’s a monster at my door,” my friend almost shrieked. I put on my suit of armour — raincoat, mask and gloves and ran to her place.

Outside, there was nothing but a parcel at the gate and I picked it up, looking around. I rang the doorbell, “you can relax, there’s no one there; Whoever it was, was either your imagination or has left.”

“I know, would you have come if I said that I was too lazy to pick-up a parcel outside?”

  8. They must be very good friends for one to pull that stunt and the other for falling for it, lol
Fun Six. We need some fun these days 😀

    1. It depends on the perspective. 😀 I don’t think the friend who rushed to her house saw it as fun.

  9. You can always try my response, “if it is that big of an emergency, you should be calling 911, not me!”

    Excellent story.

    1. Unfortunately there’s no 911 here 🙂 Phone a friend is usually the better alternative.

    1. No woods here. But it’s surely going down the street if it happens again.

  11. Well, we will see how long this friendship lasts. Maybe their friendship is full of practical jokes.

  15. Hah! At least she was honest, in the end… I would be tempted to throw the package at her, though!

    1. It was a bit heavy. Not that convenient for throwing. Also, I have horrible aim.

  18. Loved that the idea of a screaming Zoom concert was a no-no, but getting into suit of armour to investigate monster was okay 🙂 Be funny if the parcel had turned out to be a boxed-instant-monster-just-open!! Yikes!

    1. We all have our versions of being lazy. Though it would be fun to see her expression if a tiny monster did jump out of that box.
