The Park

The Park in Aambyville is a great place for multiple activities. It turns out that the first settlers of this place had quite a fight to get it and since then, it’s been a prized possession with everyone chipping in now and then to improve it.

“Haul the anchor and push off from the coast!”

That’s Captain George, the boating man; he used to run a cargo ship but always wished he was a pirate.

See that lady running? That’s Mrs. Kaur trying to look like Mrs. Maisel for the next Mrs. Aambyville competition.

Let’s go for the swings, wheeee!

I decided to revisit Aambyville (from this year’s A to Z Challenge) for this week’s prompt. You can read other episodes of Aambyville here:

The photo prompt has been given by Dale Rogerson at the Friday Fictioneers hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. The word prompt (Coast) has been given by Girlie on the Edge hosted by Denise Farley.

  3. I love this conversational style of writing. I felt I was there with you! I don’t know how your A-Z series passed me by, particularly as it was a similar idea to nine in 2017, Having just followed your link I’m sure I’d have enjoyed it. I’ll look out for you in 2020!

Btw, mine was about the village of Amble Bay

  4. Your Six resonates of a time gone by (childhood days) particularly given the area of the country we live in, i.e. southern New England. Many a small town bearing the name of the chance/deliberate discoverer.

  7. When I worked at a preschool, one of the things I enjoyed the most was hearing the conversations of children as they played outside during their free time. Such creativity!

    1. I have not watched Amityville but considering that it’s a horror movie, I’d assume that this is a happier place.
