It’s Scripted!

Director: (slamming down a newspaper) Ugh! We’re short by only 12 millionโ€ฆ (with more emphasis) just 12 million to be the highest-grossing film of all time.

Marketing Executive: (calmly) Yes, I understand. And, naturally, I’ve got a simple idea to boost ticket sales.

Director: (in an excited voice) Why didn’t you tell me so, what is it?

Marketing Executive: Well, we simply re-release the film, complete with deleted scenes, teasers and other specials.

*** The Next Day ***

Every newspaper headline reads “Avengers: Endgame to be Re-released.”

Maybe, you after all do need money to pay for making more films like Endgame.

  5. I imagine some who work in marketing are well paid especially if you can pull off a stunt like you describe in your Six. Competition and ego is alive and well ๐Ÿ˜€

Ah well, it’s actually rare when something at that scale is allowed.

  6. Thought-provoking Six!
(and, really, the person who thought up the idea of adding out-takes to the end of the film?genius… I think Jackie Chan was one of the first to do this with each of his films.)

I don’t really despise the sequel (certainly not Avengers). Just thought it’d be fun to see it from that perspective.

  9. A reminder of why I never go to so-called blockbusters! Never have. Never will. Great take.

I don’t usually go for blockbusters except for some exceptions (Endgame being one of them, managed to get tickets for the third day itself)

  10. A good story based on what is probably the reality, Bernadette. Film making in the U.S. is big business. They make no money off me as I wait until the films are on TV. The cable dish TV company does though. ๐Ÿ˜€ — Suzanne

Haha… But it’s sooooo long before some of these air on TV. How do you keep spoilers away?

Probably X-Men (Never did like the series). Endgame was nice. I know of a few friends who got really emotional at the end.
