“Hey there. Yes I’m talking to you. Me, the lake. Stop looking around. I know a journalist when I see one. You probably need a story, I could give you one.”
“A story? You?” Said the man, “Prove it.”
“Well I’ve been here for more than a century or so. I’ve seen how people have used me as a wishing well, a poet trying to create an identity by telling how beautiful nature looks through his words, young children who used this place as a picnic stop; my, what an appetite they had…”
“Ok!” he replied, how about I keep an appointment with you tomorrow. By then you can decide on the juiciest stories.”
“Done.” Said the lake. As the man walked away, the lake said quietly to itself, “Looks like another story to tell.”

A talking lake in and of itself is quite a story. Hard to believe it’s only a century old. Some lakes have been around for thousands of years.

I think I’d rung as fast as possible if a lake suddenly started talking to me! Unless, of course, it was just the norm 🙂

You wonder what story the lake has planned for the journalist. Just hope his boat is a good one , if he goes out in one.

Hmmm. Never thought of that. If I meet him, will be sure to advise him on that
