A Trip Around The World

I haven’t posted in a long time. Can’t believe that WordPress stats show that my last post was 21 days ago. Anyways moving on today’s piece of fiction.

“Grandma! Is this enough to take a trip around the world,” she asked excitedly, holding up her piggy bank. Her grandma carefully counted the money and said, “Hmmm just about enough.” She took the child to the nearby library and paid the membership fees.

There in the reading room a whole new world opened. Circus carnivals with drummers pounding their drums and horse riders attempting a number of death defying tricks. Secret gardens where princes and princesses met, one even gifting his beloved a talking parrot! Haunted warehouses where the silver rattled and imaginary ghosts were allowed to do whatever they wanted.

Coincidences, surprises, victory, and a whole lot more! That evening they went home only to set out on a new trip the next day.

  3. This is a lovely story. If my grandad hadn’t bought me classics as a child, I probably wouldn’t have moved on from comics (although I learned lots from those as well). A library ticket is worth a fortune.

  5. With all those images ingrained in her head, no doubt she will go on to see them for real in the future. A delightful tale indeed.
