You may be familiar with bookmarks!
No, I’m not talking about those little icons on the screen that you can use to save a page in your eBook or PDF reader or even browser. I am talking about those strips of paper, cardboard and string which come in different shapes and colours. As people have reduced their habit of reading physical books, the use of bookmarks has lessened.
Today being New Year, how about reviving the old tradition of using bookmarks? You could gift homemade bookmarks to near and dear ones. (Probably a personalized one with a message or quote you think they would like.) You could also use one to keep reminding you about your New Year’s resolution. (Mine is to keep posting regularly. What’s yours? Would like to hear about it in the comments.) Finally, bookmarks are very easy to make and can be customized according to your tastes. It’s possible even for those who think they are artistically challenged!
Don’t believe me? Try making your own bookmarks through these DIY steps:
- Cut out a thin strip of paper or cardboard.
- Colour it with your favourite colour.
- Now write whatever you want on it and decorate it.
- Your bookmark is ready to use.
